2016 Human Rights Prize of the French Republic [fr]
Call for applications: The French Republic’s 2016 “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity” Human Rights Prize, awarded by the French Prime Minister, is now open for applications.
This prize, created in 1988, is awarded for individual or collective action on the ground, irrespective of nationality or borders, undertaken in France or abroad, with respect to one of two themes, as chosen.
The themes for this year are:
Defending and protecting migrants.
Representing and defending the rights of disabled people under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Five prize winners will be invited to Paris for the official ceremony. They will receive a medal and share a total sum of €70,000, awarded by the Prime Minister.
