A Pozières delegation in Canberra [fr]

A delegation from the village of Pozières in the Somme, led by its mayor Mr. Bernard DeLattre, was recently visiting Australia. Following visits in Brisbane and Sydney, the delegation was welcomed at the Embassy of France in Canberra by H.E. Mr. Stéphane Romatet on the 18th of February.

This visit aimed in particular to meet two local associations, Pozieres Remembrance Association Inc. based in Queensland and 3 RNSWR (The Third Battalion, Royal NSW Regiment) which actively fundraise money for the creation of a memorial park to celebrate de centenary of the battle of Pozières in 2016.

This visit to Canberra was also the opportunity to lay a wreath at the Australian War Memorial.
