Ambassador Penot in South Australia for a three-day official visit. [fr]
This week Ambassador Penot travelled South Australia for a three-day official visit. On this occasion, he met with South Australian politicians, business executives, scientists and academics, among others, on many issues, such as defense, education and environmental concerns.
On Monday, 6 November 2017, Ambassador Penot started his visit by meeting with the Right Honourable Mr. Martin Haese, Lord Mayor of Adelaide. Then he attended a meeting with Team SA, and a brief tour of St Hugo’s with Pernod Ricard Winemakers. After that, he went to the official luncheon hosted by the Honourable Jay Weatherill MP, Premier of South Australia. In the afternoon, he toured the new Royal Adelaide Hospital with Ms. Nat Cook MP, representing the Minister for Health, and a final tour of South Australian Health and Medical Research to exchange views with Ms. Amanda Mcllroy, Chief Operatig Officer SAHMRI.
On Tuesday, 7 November 2017, Ambassador Penot began this second day by calling on Mr. Richard Price, Chief Executive, Defense and Industry. Then he went to the Australian Submarine Corporation (ASC) and was welcomed by Mr. Martin Edwards, General Manager, Submarine Capability Development. After that, he signed an Education Mobility MoU Signing Ceremony with the Honourable Dr Susan Close MP, Minister for Higher Education and Skills. In the afternoon, he visited Flinders University South Australia where he met with Professor Colin Stirling, Vice Chancellor.
On Wednesday, 8 November 2017, the final day of his official visit to South Australia, Ambassador Penot visited the Highgate School for a briefing on bilingual programs, with Principal Mr. Phil Johansen.
Then, he then met with the Honourable Ian Hunter MLC, Minister for Sustainability, Environment and Conservation. In the afternoon, he met with Investment Attraction South Australia. An Act in Space meeting was concluded this official visit to South Australia.
