Annual coordination meeting between Brigadier General Benoît Chavanat and Major General Anthony Rawlins [fr]
Brigadier General Benoît Chavanat, in charge of the International Engagement for the French Army, met the Deputy Chief of Army, Major General Anthony Rawlins, during the annual coordination meeting between the two headquarters.
From 22nd to 26th of October, the two delegations had the opportunity to talk about their strategic challenges and to prepare the next cooperation plan. This cooperation encompasses many activities, from key leader engagements to participations to exercises and training periods, especially in the aviation (helicopters) and amphibious domains. The French delegation also presented the armament program SCORPION, whose first deliveries begun this year with the armoured wheeled vehicle GRIFFON (GRIFFIN). The coordination of actions in the South West Pacific was also tackled during the visit of the 1st Division Headquarter, in Brisbane. Two Australian officers were also awarded the French national defence medal, for their duties in favour of French forces.
