First French Australian Conversations (FAC)

On March 1, 2017, the opening conference for The French Australian Conversations (FAC) series of conference debates was held at UNSW.

This successful conference was opened by the French Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Development Jean-Marc Ayrault and Professor Matthew England from UNSW. To view their opening addresses, please click on the videos below:

The first conference was dedicated to a debate surrounding climate change and sustainable development by a panel of academic and industry experts, who discussed their opinions following a showing of specific extracts from the French documentary “Tomorrow”.

The FAC is an initiative by the Embassy of France in Australia, in partnership with The Conversation website, which aims to initiate a dialogue between French and Australian academics on the major relevant topics of today, and to facilitate the development of collaborations between academics from both countries.
