Francophonie 2022 - Telopea primary students discovers New Caledonia through its tales and legends [fr]
As part of the Semaine de la francophonie, the Centre de Rencontres et d’échanges internationaux du Pacifique (CREIPAC, Noumea) organised, on 16 March, the narration (virtual, via Zoom from Noumea) of four tales and legends from New Caledonia. The storyteller, Laurence Bergery, spoke to 35 students from two Year 2 classes at Telopea Park School, in Canberra.
Very interested in the topic, the young students prepared beforehand the session with their professor. After the tales, they were given the opportunity to ask many questions about New Caledonia and its culture.
The initiative was relayed by Yves Lafoy, Official Representative of New Caledonia to Australia, Counsellor at the French Embassy in Canberra, who was then interviewed by two students from the audience for the French-Australian school’s web radio.
The storyteller will offer another virtual performance on 21 March, with 15 students from the Alliance française in Brisbane.
