The burial ceremony of the unknown soldier in this 94th anniversary of the battle of Fromelles, has brought together the French, Australian and British authorities.
The ceremony took place on the 19th of July, 2010, in the presence of the Defence Secretary of State for Veterans, Mr. Hubert Falco, and the Army General Elrick Irastorza, Chief of Staff of the Army.

Australia was represented by the General governor of Australia, Lady Quentin Bryce, as well as the Australian Minister for War veterans and Defence Personnel, Mr. Allan Griffin and Lieutenant-general Ken Gillespie, Chief of the Australian Army.
The United Kingdom was represented by the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Kent.
Thousands of Australian went to France for this occasion.
The inauguration of the new Fromelles memorial marks a new place in the collective Franco-Australian memory.
