Internet voting to choose an official stamp for COP21 [fr]
Climate – Internet voting to choose an official stamp for COP21 (joint communiqué with the Post Office, May 22)
To commemorate the 21st United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP 21, taking place at Paris-Le Bourget from November 30 to December 11, La Poste – a major partner in the conference – will issue the official COP 21 stamp. This stamp will reflect France’s commitment to the climate and its responsibility as the conference’s host.
A competition was organized for students of the Ecole Supérieure d’Art et Design de Saint-Etienne. Five entries were selected. The public may vote on these selections from May 21 through Tuesday, May 26, on COP21’s Facebook page.
A jury of eminent figures is also voting on these five proposals. Their votes, and those by Internet users, will each account for 50% of the final tally. The winning stamp will be unveiled at the end of June and will go on sale in November, during COP 21. It will be round like the planet and will incorporate green design technology.
A million of these stamps are slated to be issued in 2015. They will be valid for all international mail originating in France.
It’s up to you, from May 21 through 26, to choose the official stamp of COP21!
