Meeting of International Business Volunteers [fr]
On April 1st, France’s ambassador to Australia, His Excellency Christophe Lecourtier, brought together 40 young international business volunteers with several Australian economic actors, including Austrade, and major Australian companies. The goal of the event was to promote the Volunteering for International Experience (VIE) program and to gain better understanding of the interests of French companies in Australia.
For 15 years, VIE volunteers have helped internationalise French companies, particularly small and medium-size businesses. With more than 9,000 young people currently posted abroad, this is a program that allows young people from France to get training, gain professional experience, and be better prepared to enter the job market.
International business volunteers from across Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Adelaide...) were invited to the Ambassador’s residence to meet each other and discusstheir professional experiences Down-Under and to listen to speeches by Jane Madden, General Manager at Austrade, and Alain Brindell, Director of Public Affairs at Sanofi.
Following the reception the International business volunteers made the most of the Australian capital by visiting Parliament House and the National Gallery of Australia, where they discovered several Indigenous Australian art collections.
