New developments for the Nicolas Baudin program [fr]

Thales and Naval Group are reinforcing their participation in the Nicolas Baudin internship in France initiative. A new “internship in Australia” scheme will soon be offered to French students.

On the occasion of the Australian visit of Frédérique Vidal, French minister of higher education, research and innovation, the Nicolas Baudin student mobility program has entered a new era, with an even stronger involvement from the industry partners.

Three MoUs have been signed:

Thanks to these agreements, the laureates of the « internship in France initiative » will be financially supported by Thales and Naval Group. Students selected from the participating Australian universities for a research internship in France, with either Thales or Naval Group as an industry partner will have their travel expenses to France covered bythese companies.

In addition, the agreements will allow the launch of a new « internship in Australia initiative ». Based on reciprocity, this “mirror” initiative will allow French students to do a research internship in one of the Australian partner universities on topics jointly proposed by Thales or Naval Group in collaboration with the Australian academic labs. The participating French students will receive the same support as the Australian students doing an internship in France through the program.

The call for internship topics in Australia will be open to Australian universities shortly.

The call for applications for internships in France is currently open, until the 15th of April 2019.
