Mrs Stéphanie Foster, Officer in the National Order of Merit (Sept. 20, 2012)
Official award ceremony of the Rank of Officer in the National Order of Merit to Mrs Stéphanie Foster (Sept. 20, 2012)
Mrs Stéphanie Foster, was confered the insignia of Officer in the National Order of Merit (Officier de l’Ordre national du Mérite) by the Ambassador of France, H.E. Mr. Stephane Romatet, at the occasion of a ceremony gathering numerous Australian personalities, amongst them the Hon. Gary Gray (Minister for the Public Service and Integrity).
The award of such decoration was proposed while Mrs Foster was First Assistant Secretary International Policy (FASIP).
Mrs. Foster had been facilitating the defence bilateral relation between France and Australia for 6 years, from 2002 to 2008. As such, her role has proved to be critical in strengthening our defence relation, in particular in the writing and the ratification of the French-Australian Defence Agreement.
Mrs Foster, known for her francophile attitude, is also a member of the Alliance Française where she still follows French classes to refine an already sharp skill.
