Opening of a New Caledonian “Space” at Telopea Park School [fr]

Financed by the Delegation of New Caledonia in Australia, this space, "a real showcase for New Caledonia in Canberra" according to Yves LAFOY, will promote “La francophonie” (the French-speaking world) at Telopea Park School.

Since joining the International Organization of la Francophonie (OIF) in 2016, New Caledonia has been working to implement a strategy to promote the French language in the Asia-Pacific region, of which the Pacific Francophone Forum, initiated by the Government of New Caledonia in 2008, is an integral part.

The inauguration of a "Cultural and Educational Space of New Caledonia", which will take place on 25 September at Telopea Park School (Lycée franco-australien) in Canberra, is part of this approach.

Representing the Government of New Caledonia, Yves LAFOY, Official Representative of New Caledonia to Australia, based at the French Embassy in Canberra, will proceed to the inauguration ceremony of this dedicated space. In the presence of the Australian Principal, Mrs Kerrie BLAIN and the French Principal (Proviseur) Mr David BINAN, responsible for the French section.

Financed by the Delegation of New Caledonia in Australia, this space, "a real showcase for New Caledonia in Canberra" according to Yves LAFOY, will promote “La francophonie” (the French-speaking world) at Telopea Park School, which will soon boast a vast collection of art books, comic strips, novels and DVDs offering a unique window into the landscapes, traditions and culture of New Caledonia.
