Passports requirements

Visa applicants must present a valid passport to apply for a visa.

Each passport must comply with the following conditions to be accepted by the French authorities:

- it allow proper identification of bearer without any doubt ;

- it bears the holder’s signature ;

- it is not damaged, has no stamp or mark of any kind;

- is must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the last day of your stay in the Schengen area or the end of validity of your visa;

- it must have been issued less than 10 years ago (date of first issuance);

- it must contain at least 2 blank successive and facing pages (that are not used).

Therefore, if your passport does not comply with these above-mentioned conditions, the Consulate general of France in Sydney will not be able to accept your visa application.
