For the third time an artist residency entitled “French Artist in Residence – FAR Bundanon-Australia”, is jointly organized by Bundanon Trust and the Embassy of France in Australia.
This residency is part of a wider residency program initiated by the Embassy of France in Australia to encourage french artists to practice and show their work in Australia.
Bundanon Trust is an Australian institution supporting practice and engagement in the arts, in particular through its artist residency program which attracts each year over 300 artists and intellectuals from both within Australia and overseas. Bundanon Trust promotes collaborations between Australian and international artists in its several residences and studios, located on the south coast of New South Wales. Initiated by the Embassy of France in Australia in conjunction with Institut Français, this initiative aims at strengthening artistic collaborations between France and Australia.
At the very heart of Bundanon, the Fern apartment will host an individual French artist in residence from April 23 to June 3, 2018.
The laureate will also be offered the opportunity to explore the possibility of being put in contact with cultural institutions and partners, in partnership with the Alliances Françaises in Australia, to promote his or her work. An exhibition of the works created during the residency may be organized in one of the Alliances Françaises in Australia after the residency.
The call for applications is opened until the 8th November 2017. The selection committee, composed of representatives from Bundanon Trust, the Embassy of France in Australia, the Alliances Françaises and one external person, will gather on the xx December 2017 to announce the laureate.
