Visit to Australia by Mr. Thierry Mariani, Minister for Transport
Mr. Thierry Mariani, Minister for Transport within the Department of Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transport and Housing, will visit Australia from the 14th to 18th of August. He will open the conference on “French Innovation and the Future of Transport in Australia“
organised by the Embassy of France, in collaboration with the Australian Government Department of Transport and Infrastructure, the Australian Government Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, and the New South Wales Government Department of Trade and Investment.
This event will take place in Sydney on the 15th of August, from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, at the Hamilton-Parkes Room of NSW Trade and Investment Department. Major politicians, government specialists as well as Australian and French companies will present their vision for the future of Transport in Australia. French companies will expose their savoir-faire, innovations and solutions. The day-long conference will be divided into three sessions dedicated to the Future of Air, Automotive and Rail Transport.
In Sydney, Mr. Mariani will meet with members of the New South Wales Government, in particular: The Hon. Mr. Barry O’Farrell, Premier; The Hon. Mr. Andrew Stoner, Deputy Premier; The Hon. Mrs. Gladys Berejiklian, Minister for Transport. He will also visit numerous representatives of the French community.
In Canberra, the Minister will discuss with The Hon. Mr. Anthony Albanese, Australian Minister for Infrastructure and Transport. He will also have the opportunity to meet with the local French community.
In Melbourne, the Minister will speak to members of the Victoria Government, in particular: The Hon. Mr. Terry Mulder, Minister for Public Transport, The Hon. Mr. Nicholas Kotsiras, Minister of Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship. He will visit the Thales site and the flight control centre as well as the Yarra Trams operational centre (Keolis Downer EDI).
