Winners of the AFRAN call for projects [fr]
The Australian-French Association for Research and Innovation (AFRAN) aims to actively promote the development of research and innovation cooperation between France and Australia.
In 2016, AFRAN offered grants to members of the Association to support the organisation of 2 workshops aimed specifically at creating structured collaborations within the perimeter of AFRAN and/or between France and Australia. One workshop was on the gene drives with CRISPR technics, the other was on cancer resistance and has been the occasion to launch the first LIA (International Associated Laboratory) between INSERM and Australia.
In 2017, the association will fund 4 new projects on major themes:
- The Australia-French Energy Symposium - As part of the 3rd Energy Future Conference, coordinated by Prof François Aguey-Zinsou
- The development of a French-Australian alliance for Ocean Wave Energy, coordinated by Dr Ben Cazzolato
- The Exoplanets and Astrobiology workshop, coordinated by Dr Charles Lineweaver
- The French-Australian collaborative project on the observation of sea ice biogeochemistry and its representation in global Earth system models, coordinated by Dr Sebastien Moreau.
We wish them a lot of success in their collaborative work.
